website exploration

Today In human geo on October 29th we used the ciagov website and we used the Factbook to learn about each country and there background.

In the Bahamas there are only 3 total seaports, container ports and cruise ports and I was surprised by this because it's a big vacation spot and a lot of people visit there with there families. Also this really surprised me because this is a major island spot on the Atlantic Ocean and it's right below Florida. Another thing I was surprised that is that they only have 24 airports which is surprising because like I said it's a very populated place for vacationing and I know a lot of people that go there every year.
Another fact is in Monaco the migrant rate is 5.7 and this surprised me because since it's a rich country on the Mediterranean Sea I thought there would be a lot more people because people want jobs and to be rich and make a lot of many to support there families. Also Monaco is a laid back country with a lot of money so a lot if people dream to have a lifestyle like that.
Another fact about Monaco that surprised me is that the median age for females is 54.5 years and for men it's 51.7 years and I thought that most people would live longer there because it's a wealthy and laid back country so people don't really have to deal with stress and people can spend a lot of fun time with each other and don't have to worry about working jobs to support there family and having a lot of stress on them.
Another fact that surprised me was that Fiji only had 4 airports with paved runways and I thought that they would have a lot more because it's a huge vacation spot and they have 24 airports but only 4 with paved runways so that means that the other 20 are harder to use for landings and take offs with planes and jets.
Lastly, another thing that really surprised me was that Fiji has 547 km of railroad tracks which is equal to 339.89 miles and I'm shocked because Fiji is just an island on it's own far away from a lot of things and also you can't drive a train through water so what is the need for so many miles of railroad track especially when the population living there isn't that big it's kind of a waste of space.
