Population and health

Today In human geography class on October 9th, we started a new unit called the cultural landscape and it's all about population and health. Population concentrations- 2/3 of the world's inhabitants are clustered in four regions. East Asia, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Europe. The site situation of population clusters- low lying areas with fertile soil and temperate climate. Near an ocean or near a river with easy access to an ocean. Population density is sparsely populated regions and density can be computed in up to three ways for a place. Humans avoid clustering in certain physical environments such as dry lands, wet lands, cold lands, and high lands. The 3 types of density are 1. Arithmetic density which is dividing the population by the land area. 2. Physiological density which is number of people supported by a unit area of farmable or arable land also the dividing the population. 3. Agricultural diversity is the ratio of the number of farmers to an amount of arable land also it is the dividing of the population of farmers by the arable land area. Componets of population growth- geographers measure population change in a country or the world as a whole by using 3 measures. Crude birth rate (CBR), Crude death rate (CDR), and Natural increase rate (NIR).
