Population and Settlement
Today in class, October 23rd we started a new unit called population and settlement. We learned so far about the population in the United States and how you can track how fast it grows. We learned that there are over 7.5 billion people on the planet right now. It is increasing by over 73 million people a year. 90% of this population growth takes place in the developing countries of Africa, south and east Asia, and Latin America. In 1804 it took over 10,000 years to increase the population by 1 billion. As the years went by and the population grew bigger it took less times as years went by and the smallest is has taken is 12 years for the population to reach by 1 billion.
